Android DNS cache clearing

Sometimes there’s a problem reaching a web site. The tech folks will tell you to clear your cookies, cache, etc. You can do this in your browser settings, but still get an error message telling you the web site you want is not responding the way it should.

Problem may be the DNS cache. DNS is like a central phone exchange that translates your site requests to an IP number so that your call can be routed to the actual physical location of the party you are trying to reach. The most recent ones are stored in a cache to shortcut the process. If the cache is not up-to-date or corrupt, your call to a particular page may not go through as planned though other pages work fine.  I have seen this site be unavailable from some US providers or VPN services. Your solution may be to start fresh with another “phone exchange” entirely.

On Windows, Mac or router, changing the DNS values is relatively easy to do if you know where the internet parameters are. But not so on an Android phone.

Download Engelsiz from the playstore then re-boot your phone. Temporarily change the DNS values on your device to alternate values. The safest ones to use are 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. (the Google defaults). Then launch your browser or service app and re-try the offending page.

Your default DNS values will return when you reboot the phone.

Hi Kevin! Are you still unable to access your Self Serve and having too many redirects when you log in?

I'm getting the same issue. With Chrome and Firefox I get the "too many redirects" message, with IE, Safari and Opera the browser just hanks (presumably for the same reason.)

Some insight: I have just registered a new account but the primary account holder is my wife. I have confirmed my email address via the verification email, but my wife has certainly not done the same thing yet (as the primary account holder).  Could this be the issue?

My husband is also having the same issue!

I use to fix the electrical and computer systems in helicopters when I was in the Air Force...so this is very frustrating to see they same issue come up in this community over and over again. If we had an issue that kept reoccurring in the fleet we would make sure it got fixed.

I have been a long time Koodo customer (over 6 years) and it is not a browser issue as I can login to my account from Google Chrome but he cannot.

I have the same issue. I wanted to save on paper and review my account electronically.  Quite frankly, after Koodo changed my phone number to me, now my patience with Koodo's lack of service is getting short and I'm really considering Fido, which has a similar plan. Koodo people please tell your management this because people expect service.  I tried IE and Mozilla and I get the too many redirect errors.  Koodo should be fixing this problem, not the users.  PS When I had my pre-paid account, I never had a problem-it's only with the monthly paid self-serve I can't log in. And I don't want to log in on my phone because the screen's too small.  This is the error:

The www.koodomobile.com page isn’t working

www.koodomobile.com redirected you too many times.

And now I have to drive in the cold and snow to a Koodo boutique to get help. Guys, tell your management because this isn't working from a long-term customer satisfaction perspective. Your company's not being managed properly.

Were they able to solve your problem?  I am able to login to self serve without issue.  I see this issue from time to time but I have never experienced it my self.  have you tried clearing your cookies as the page instructed? I would like to know what solid solution to this is since I dont have the opportunity to experience it myself

Hi, the message now when I try to log in is "Looks like this account has already been linked to another email address. You're still waiting for permission from the owner of that email address. We'll email you once you're approved."   I guess this is because I had the same email address for my pre-paid account. I would like to mention that the timely delay of this "approval process" is useless. I didn't have my account number, because I wasn't able to log in, and therefore wasn't able to add this to my online banking, and haven't paid my first bill, which affects my credit rating.  The lack of functionality still isn't working. Please tell your higher ups. You can quote me.

Same problem, cant log in with firefox on phone but can on everything else. They told me to use chrome, but firefox logs into every other site just fine.

Koodo, fix your service instead of telling your customers to fix it for you. We pay for you to do your jobs and provide service, its on your end that this problem is coming from.
