samsung s2 recieving MMS messages

i just switched from a blackberry to the samsung s2. my plan includes unlimited sms and mms messages but i cant send or recieve mms messages. i have my data turned off cause i use wifi. still shouldn't effect my messages. what gives ?

MMS requires an active mobile data connection. You can't send or receive MMS over wifi.

but if its unlimited then why do i need the data to use it? then technicialy it wouldnt be unlimited because its using the data ... or im just crazy

That's how MMS works on the HSPA network. It requires an active mobile data connection. It's unlimited in the fact that you do not pay any additional cost for sending MMS. Without unlimited messaging, it's $0.50/mms.
