samsung s5 using 3 times the data in 3 days??

Switched from Samsung S4 to S5 and now I constantly go over my data useage in my plan of 1 GB which I didn't get close to before...yes I turn off mobile data at home when wifi is on and now turn it off a lot thru the day but yet I get a text telling me I have used 75% of my allotment in 3 days??? Help?

There has to be an app that uses data running in the background. You can go into settings and change which apps use data and when(SETTINGS> DATA USAGE> click on the app and choose restrict app background data . That's your best bet. Switching phones doesn't have much to do with it, unless you've downloaded a new app or apps that you didnt have before.


Another option , is to go into your toggle menu by swiping down on the home screen, go to SYNC and toggle it to the off position and that will stop apps from updating and giving you notifications while on Data.

Especially, check your google play store settings to update apps on wifi only.

No Problem. Bob's suggestion about the Google Play settings is a absolute MUST for me as well if your worried about data consumption.
