Recently had my Samsung S5 replaced (green line running down screen) I followed the directions given to me by koodo to set up the replacement they sent. I now rarely if at all get any cellular service, and on my old phone the service was very strong. Right now I have trouble getting any service even in a large city like Ottawa. Is there something I haven't set up correctly? Help

Bars on the phone are just barely decorations. Download from Google Play:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cls.networkwidget

or something similar. Gives fairly instantaneous readings for voice and data in -dBm units. As long as you show less than 100 -dBm, you should be able to communicate. If you can send yourself a text and receive it promptly, then the network connection is working.

If your numbers are constantly in the red or orange range, there may be something wrong with the replacement phone's antenna or circuitry.

You will be better armed with real numbers you can quote to tech service rather than just bars if indeed the phone is out to lunch all the time.
