Samsung s2x wifi connectivity issues

I am having trouble with my Samsung Galaxy S2X. The wifi is currently not working. When I go into settings to turn it on, it gets stuck in the "turning on..." phase for hours/days at a time. Has anyone else experienced this/know how to fix it? Advice would be much appreciated.

Turn it off , pull the battery and SIM, reinstall both, turn it back on.

Thanks for the response! Sorry, I should have mentioned this in the original post, but I have already done this several times, in addition to a factory reset

Just do the normal phone procedure:
1. Turn Off
2. Take out removable battery (if possible)
3. Take out all SD cards and SIM cards
4. Put back and boot
5. If still doesn't work, there is a problem with the phone hardware wise

Thanks for the response! Sorry, I should have mentioned this in the original post, but I have already done this several times, in addition to a factory reset. Would you have any idea what type of hardware problem this would be/how it could be fixed?

Pull the battery, yaya yada, yada, I'm sure you tried at all before, and that's what everyone recommends as the first step.

If this problem exists in a situation where you can control the wifi router, the solution may be below:

It's a known issue between certain Samsung models and certain routers. They don't play nice together.

To start with, OP wifi won't confirm its even on so anything you're doing with the router at this point is hopeless. If the device is under warranty I'd yada yada a repair and if not yada yada upgrade.

Secondly, how does setting up "find my iPhone" apply to someone with an android experiencing this issue? I'm going to assume you accidently posted this link. I'd hate to think you just yada yada post anything.

Sorry for the hopeless response, but I did say IF they have control of the router, a solution may be there. Google "samsung dlink wifi problem" and have a pleasant evening.

There are some helpful tips in that link if you're the owner of an S3. Unfortunately, the short codes that are used are often device specific. There are some standard codes that will work with most if not all Android devices, (e.g.,*#06# = IMEI).

In this instance, what works for an S3 will not work with the S2x. For example, the short code, *#0011# does indeed invoke the ServiceMode window on the S2x, but the Wi-Fi option is absent from the softkey menu. All of the other tips mentioned on that page can be applied to the S2x, but this will not resolve the issue at hand.

If the phone is no longer under warranty, you can try your hand at re-flashing the firmware to your device. No root required, simply download the firmware from SamMobile and the firmware installation utility Odin - SamMobile provides a link to version 3.07. The model number to search for is: SGH-T989D. Registration is free and so is the firmware download, but you have to register first.

The method above will fix the Wi-Fi connectivity issue.

If flashing firmware doesn't sound very appealing, then as others have suggested, it may be time to look for a new phone. I can personally vouch for the Moto G and Nokia Lumia 635. Or you may want to take a look at the Galaxy Core LTE or HTC Desire 320. Just some suggestions.
