HELP!!!! I got my Samsung Galaxy S4 in January 2015 (almost a year old). Everything was fine up until a few months ago (I'm away at school and haven't had a chance to take it into a Koodo store). For whatever reason, when I attempt to call someone, the phone dials, but then there is no ring tone. I can't call out. In addition, my phone will ring when I receive a call, but if I pick up I can't hear anything nor can the other person on the line hear me. At first, I read something about Google Hangouts messing up your phone in that way. I deactivated it. My phone worked again. About a week later the problem arose again. I did a whole factory reset, my phone was fine for about a day and then went back to being weird. I'm so frustrated, I rarely drop my phone, and when I have my phone is always in a heavy duty otter box case so I doubt I did something wrong to my phone. SOMEBODY HELP. I'm so frustrated. If the phone is ruined I really hope Koodo covers it I've done nothing wrong!!

Have you tried removing the SIM card? Then put it back and make sure it is seated correctly and restart your phone. Make sure the contacts on the Sim look clean as well.

Yes i have (sorry forgot to mention that)! The card seemed to look fine, but that being said, what are some signs I should be looking for that indicate its damaged ? also how might the sim card get damaged? Also, what do u mean by make sure the contacts look clean?
Thanks!

Actually, removing and reseating Sim card was just to make sure it hadn't been dislodged when it was dropped .
The gold colour contact should just not have dirt on it.
