If there is no other way to unlock the device, it would need to be factory reset.

If you don't remember the pin password to unlock your phone to use it, I believe it will eventually ask you for you google email address and password. Enter that in and it should work. If not, then yes a factory reset is the only other option, which will whipe everything on your phone.

Also to factory reset your phone, most android devices can be done by holding a series of buttons at the same time, usually power volume down and home button, this will do a factory reset, however you will loose all info so just keep that in mind, once you get your phone working again, try to make sure your info is backed up to your google account by going into accounts and sync and clicking on your gmail and you should be able to sync everything there. You can also look on youtube for a video on how to do it for your specific phone.

If anyone can find a way to boot a galaxy ace 2x into recovery mode (verified with a phone in your hands, not a link to an internet post) please post it. I have yet to get it to work on this model of phone.

This took me a few tries to finally get it.

Press and hold the middle of the volume button. You will feel a "double click," press and hold the home button then press and hold the power button untill you see the model number of the phone show as it usually would when you power up the phone normally

You will see the Andoird guy show up and then a menu. press volume buttons to go up and down. Wipe data/factory reset, then Yes. After that, select "reboot system now."

Muchos gracias. Could have sworn I tried that. Guess the phone itself is more finicky about it than most.

Very finicky. Feelz the double clicking I mentioned and it SHOULD be downhill from there.
