When are you going to release a security patch for the s9+.  I require to have the Feb 5 patch or later or my work is going to revoke my intune access because of security issues with the current patch level (Feb 01)

When is it going to be released???

Unfortunately Koodo doesnt state ahead of time when they will be pushing updates so you'll have to wait till it happens

I just got my S9 from Koodo on Tues. It's at security patch Feb 1, it's friggin May. Can't blame this one on Samsung.

Was thinking the exact same thing when I got my s9+ the other day but not sure who is causing this issue. Why do you say you can't blame Samsung for this?

The links below should provide a bit more clarity about security patches and updates. One must also consider carrier testing and regulatory approval, which can significantly delay update delivery. My thinking is that Koodo has opted for quarterly updates instead of monthly, thus giving the manufacturer/carrier time to finalize testing and deliver updates at any given time during a quarter.

This may sound somewhat contradictory to some because Samsung states that they produce monthly updates for flagship devices like the S9 and S9+. However, Samsung offers a disclaimer which reads:

"1The list of monthly security update models are subject to change as the regular support period expires. Also, some carriers may only support quarterly updates for all applicable current models listed above".  (Scope tab)

Side note: both March and April SMR updates were released.

Ultimately, final delivery rests with the carrier. There may have been issues found during testing that may have delayed delivery of the final product. Speculation at best, but that's all I've got. Hopefully, the update(s) will arrive within the second quarter.

We are talking about security patches here, not software updates.  I dont care when 8.1 comes up, i want the security fixes for security reasons, something newer than feb 1 please

I'm sure it's coming. I recently got May for my Note 8.

Funny how microsoft Intune tells me I need patch level March 2018 now to be compliant.

This slow patch release cycle isn't going to cut it with security requirements now a days...

I suppose.

I think that's more of a blip. Samsung is usually pretty good with security updates. Up to you if you wanna be patient or switch to another OEM that also has a good track record with regular security patches. There aren't many.
