Reward your current long time customer by letting them participate in the new plans. I was very sad to read the fine print stating that I was not able to switch to the new plans due to upgrading my phone prior to April 19th, 2015. I am a long time Koodo customer and have had brand loyalty towards them for a long time. Which says a lot considering that with all other telecommunications and Internet services I use, I have had virtually no brand loyalty. This is the first time I am feeling slighted and have felt the need to look at other service providers. I don't expect Koodo to change the date requirement for the new plans and so I do intend to look at other providers. But I felt it was necessary to discuss and highlight current customers being left out of the new plans.

Why do you think you can't switch. We just did on one of our line today. No problem. Have been with koodo for 4 years. All we had to do is pay off our outstanding tab (money we owed on the phone) and bingo! The $45 plan with 1gb was our in 20 minutes.

So, if you are willing to pay the money you owe on your phone no one stops you from switching.

Interesting. All their information on their site (when logged into the self serve portal) states that the new plans aren't available until the next hardware upgrade. I tried to change my plan through the portal and it pulls up the old plans only. I owe very little on my tab and would have no problem paying it off. There is a kiosk a few blocks from my office. I'll take a walk tomorrow and ask them if I can do exactly what you described. I'll report back and let you know what they had to say.

Yes, they told us in the store that change plans online is not available until early May. Then you can do it. Right now in stores and by calling them.

In my world, loyalty is sticking with someone, or something through thick & thin, not hanging around simply because it is convenient, or the beer is free.

I must live in a different world... in MY world, loyalty to a company only lasts as long as the service is something I need, and their price beats the competition if possible. Let's not start pretending that Koodo is our dearest friend who needs our love and devotion...

That said, I love Koodo because they have been good to me as a Mobile Master. But I would STILL shop around for the best plan for the best price.

Haha. Indeed. We are talking about a telecommunications service and not a marriage or a dear friend. I think the previous poster was just trolling.

So you stick around as long as you are sufficiently rewarded for your business. While a wise choice, especially from a financial perspective, jumping ship to the next great thing is not an indication of loyalty.

Note that I'm not saying you SHOULD remain with a company whose products do not meet your needs; I'm simply speaking to the use of the word loyalty.

As Rudy said, you can switch to the new plans if you do any sort of upgrade or if your tab is completely paid off. The new plans essentially have the SIM only discount built into them, so it kinda makes sense that your not getting what is essentially a sim only price if you are still paying off a tab balance.

Hi Mark. The new pricing took me a little time to become acquainted. That is a good point in regards to not getting the SIM only price if you are paying off a tab balance. I do hope they let me switch to a new plan after paying off my tab. I'm going to give it a try.
