Request data block

There doesn't seem to be a way to do this via self service. Can I get a data block without paying a customer service fee? (yes, I know I can turn data off on my Android - I also know that apps and updates can turn it back on and I will incur data charges). Thanks

Yes, a Data block can be added without the service fee. Apps will not turn on data on their own, only the user can turn the data on and off within the phone.

I agree with Mike, you can request your data to be blocked (turned off) through customer service at no cost to you.
Thank you, Myke and Jeff.

Just a note that a data block will prevent you from receiving MMS (picture messages)
No prob. But thank you for highlighting that for me.
