I am in New Zealand with a Canadian Koodo iPhone and thought I could use EasyRoam here as Koodo lists it as a participating country, but my phone won’t connect with NZ networks. Can I unlock my phone now that I’m traveling?

Hi Laurie,
Yes, you need the phone to be unlocked to roam.
As you are traveling, you could send message to Koodo facebook and ask for unlock. They need the IMEI of the phone, so it would be handy if you can send them at the time of the request.

Just to correct: You don't need the phone to be unlocked to roam, if you are using the koodo SIM (as Mats mention below). However, if you are using a local SIM you would need to unlock it. Make sure the easyroam was on your account in selfserve if you choose the easyroam option.

Your phone does not need to be unlocked to use easy roam and if NZ is a participating country it should work there. Try restarting the phone or reset your network settings. Make sure the easy roam add on is on your account.
