Referral credits were not applied to my account as indicated from Koodo's e-mail

Hello,

I have received two (2) seperate emails today (July 19, 2018) from Koodo indicating my account has been credited with the referral bill credits.  E-mails were sent at 11:27 AM and 3:18 PM.

Given that for each referral, $10 will be applied for five (5) consecutive months, i was expecting to see $20 applied immediately because they are for two people which were referred earlier.

When i logged into my account, i was not able to see the amount credited as described from the e-mail received.

Can someone from the Koodo team please assist with looking into this issue.

Thank you.

If you received the email today, when was your last detailed PDF ebill? I assume the credit would be seen on your next pdf ebill

They were just confirmed today so they will more than likely show up on your next bill. If you have any referral questions here is the contact info for them.

Thanks.

So are you saying that the credit will only show up when I view my next month’s PDF e-bill?

I initially thought the credit will be applied immediately to my account and show up as a negative balance of -$20 ($10 x 2 referrals).

Is this no longer the case as I recall this was the way the referral credits were applied when I was a previously with Koodo before.

Yes it should appear on your next bill, assuming your bill is not coming coming like tomorrow since there is a lag between billing changes like credits and when it appears on your next bill

@Lam I see what you mean. It still should be the same way. Since they were just confirmed today it might take a couple days to show up in real time on your account balance..

Thank you for your prompt response. I will wait for a few days to see if the credits are applied.

If not, wait till your next bill and then call!

When i initially referred my friends, i had a different phone number on my Koodo account which is the phone number that I originally selected when activating with Koodo.

But i have ported over another phone number from my previous cellular carrier recently.  Would this cause the credits not being applied to my account?

Thanks.

No that shouldn't affect your referrals. Log in to the site below to check the status of your referrals.

I have checked the status and it shows approved already.

It seems this new way they pay out referrals is done on each bill for 5 months after your referral was approved. This is why you weren't seeing it applied immediately in self serve after receiving approval email.

In the link below scroll to the bottom and read the FAQ for both customer and friends where it explains it.

So it looks like the credit is now applied towards the bill when it’s generated for each month, assuming I read this correctly.

Before they just immediately apply it your Koodo account and it will show up as a negative balance. Your future bills will just get deducted off the credit balance.

That is also the way I read it Lam. Hopefully you will see it on your next(plus 4 more) bill.

I liked the way they did it before. A 1 time payment applied right away after the confirmation email.
