Hi I was planning to move from a major carrier to koodo, but I was wondering about the reception coverage around the Castlemore area (end of Hwy 427 N). I have heard that the koodo reception is not that good.

I currently have an HTC Sensation, and I manually tried searching for the towers in my area and my phone never showed any Koodo, Telus, Or Bell towers, But it showed me rogers & wind.

Please could somebody explain why, for a better understanding of the area see

Real life customer feedback on realtime cell network can be found at cellmapper at the following link:

Koodo uses the Bell/Telus network so the coverage is the same. :)

Your phone may not be compatible with Koodo which would be why koodo didn't show. You may have 2g only enabled, which could be why Koodo didn't show

I am in Brampton constantly, there is service. The area you show is near FastFrate, I deliver up there all the time. It's within a major metropolitan area where Koodo has coverage. Actually I usually get 4G LTE coverage as confirmed by this coverage map

I set my phone to GSM/HSPA (auto) while searching for towers and three showed up i.e. Rogers, Wind & 302320, I was wondering if the last one belonged to koodo or bell/telus networks

By the way I have only the following options on my phone

1) HSPA only
2) GSM only
3)GSM/HSPA (auto)

Please could anyone tell me if my phone is compatible with the koodo network. IS 4G HSPA same as HSPA?

I am just going to use my cell for making phone calls

What is the model number of your phone? Better yet check at the link below to see if it's compatible. A phone that's not compatible may not show Koodo / Telus

No its not compatible as the test turned negative. As a last resort I may have to use a koodo SIM and try to make a call to be sure. anyways thanks for the reply.

My phone is HTC Sensation XE, I bought it in Dubai, it was and is an unlocked phone and is of European brand

Out in the Brampton boonies, phones mostly roam on the Bell network which will not be noticeably different.

Talk to your neighbors there and see what they use and how they find the service, or go for a drive with a buddy who's on Koodo/Telus, Bell/Virgin/Solo and see how the coverage is.

As for phone compatibility, if your phone can be antenna flashed, that would make it work.

I live in Brampton (West side of Brampton - Sandalwood and Creditview area), I do get 2 to 3 bars out of 4 on my Galaxy S4 i337M. My previous phone was Blackberry Curve 3G and it was full bar.
