How can I get a proper invoice and/or receipt for payments made to my prepaid account? I need it for tax purposes, and the transaction summary in prepaid self service doesn't cut it, since it neither shows the HST amount charged nor does it show Koodo's HST number.

I think you need to keep the receipts for any vouchers you buy in store. For any online CC transactions, however... I don't know. Maybe we could wait for an employee to chime in.

Sorry yeah, I should have been clearer - I am referring to the automatic topups and to payments made online. Obviously a store-bought voucher wouldn't have the same issue since you're issued a physical receipt at point-of-sale.

I second the request for receipts on prepaid plans.  I use my phone a fair bit for business, and need to be able to show the expenses for tax purposes.  It is unnecessarily messy trying to calculate the expenses from the transaction history, and most likely, not acceptable to CRA.  Hope Koodo can build this feature into the Self Serve option.

Hey Jake,

For prepaid, the only way to view the transaction history for your automatic top-ups are from your Self Serve account.

Thanks for the reply. Is there a particular reason why Koodo can't / won't issue receipts for prepaid?

Do they issue receipts for postpaid?

I'm on postpaid. I get an invoice every month but no receipt of payment, except for the one line that shows the credit against my bill from my payment on next month's invoice

Unfortunately, Koodo's response doesn't answer the question at all.  The initial poster, like myself and other posters on this thread, need a proper receipt/invoice showing the sales tax).  Self Serve doesn't do that or, if it does, it's not obvious how.
Koodo, instead of fobbing people off with responses that don't address the question, please provide the customer with one of the essential things a customer can expect of a supplier - a receipt!  It really isn't much to ask.

Top up transactions should have a receipt whether purchased in store (where I did get a receipt) OR online (where I did not get a receipt). Get with the times, Koodo! Every other carrier (and business, for that matter) provides a receipt to the customer when money is exchanged. Who cares what your current policies are, if they're broken - fix them!

Hey guys!

Just to give you the latest update, our customer service team is now able to make a request to send you an invoice of your credit card purchases on your prepaid account.  You would need to get in touch with them (*611 from your Koodo phone) and they will ask you questions to complete the request.  Please note that there can be a 30 day delay before receiving the copy of the information that you requested via email.  Thank you!

Melissa:

Thank you for this reply.  However either your information is incorrect, or else the Koodo customer service team did not get the memo.

I just called *611 to speak to customer service.  This was at 7:04pm EDT on April 1, 2016.  I spoke to a CS rep named "Abraham" (he told me that he's not permitted to provide me with an employee ID or any other identifying information, so this is all I have to go with).

He told me that the only way I can get my payment history is through the self service online portal, and that he can neither send me a receipt of my online payments, nor can he send a request to accounting for one to be produced.

Needless to say, I'm really not thrilled about this.  So I want to know: who's wrong here?  Is it Melissa, or is it "Abraham"?  Someone needs to get their facts straight.  And in the meantime, it's the customers that suffer.

[And no, this isn't an April Fool's joke.]

Anything on this?  Can we get receipts or not?  Maybe it's time to find a new mobile provider.

Hey Guys I'm having trouble finding the "online-contact-form" despite the posted link from Jeff - I just emailed koodo.webstore@koodomobile.com cause that's the closest thing I could find - any help?

Send a private message through their FB page since they removed their Email contact.
Or call *611 from your Koodo phone to request the receipt.

I have recently been trying to obtain a receipt for bill payments made online - as I use my phone almost exclusively for business (97%+ of the time) and the CSR's at *611 are all on the same page now... "we don't issue a receipt for payments received unless you go to a store/booth and make an in-person payment there" - it's not ideal and I can't imagine that it would be that difficult for a successful payment transaction to generate a printable receipt!
