Random Data Charges in between No-Cost Data?

Why do I have two $5 data charges, oddly placed in the middle of the day, in between no-cost data usages? And then the days following this, still no-cost data. Why would I be charged randomly at one time in the day, then not charged the rest of this day? And no, my cycle didn't reset right after the charge. For example:

21:15 Data Usage 6.72 MB $0.00
21:51 Data Usage 10.00 MB $5.00
21:51 Data Usage 60.00 MB $0.00
22:42 Data Usage 10.00 MB $0.00

What's with that $5.00 charge at 21:51?? This happened on another day as well during this cycle.

If a Koodo employee does not jump in, I suggest sending a PM via Koodo's Facebook page to follow up.

If you go over your allowed data usage you will typically be charged $5 for another bucket of overage data. The size of this data bucket varies depending on your plan. While self serve will continue to show your usage one this overage is added, you will not be charged again until that amount of overage data is exceeded, at which time you will again be charged $5 for more overage data.

My plan includes 5GB data, and additional data costs $5/250 MB. So what you're saying is once I reached the 250MB over my 5GB, they charged me $5.. and then nothing until I reached the next 250MB which then was charged another $5? The in between data usage just shows up as $0?

Close. You actually pay for the extra 250 MB at the beginning of the consumption of it, and are charged again when you again cross the 250 MB threshold. In other words, you pay for your block of consumption in advance of using it.

that makes more sense.. not like they're going to give me free 249MB and only charge me if I reach 250MB!
