I live in Quebec (Gatineau) but work in Ontario (Ottawa). I want to activate my phone with Koodo. It is much more convenient for me to activate at an Ottawa location - will I be able to get a Quebec number and corresponding pricing at the Ottawa store, or do I need to go to a Quebec store?

@Kevin: as long as you show your Quebec ID, of course! In fact, by showing a Quebec ID to a Koodo sales rep, they'd have to activate you on a Quebec plan with a Quebec phone number. I can confirm this works by experience.

Enjoy.

That's not a fact. There's no "have to."

@Not Jean-Pierre Blais: You're right in the sense that the system will allow activating a number from any city where Telus has wireless prefixes available. However many Koodo retailers won't activate a phone number outside of a customer's province of residence to limit out of province plans, to protect company revenue, and to mitigate Koodo phone sales reps from using out of province plans as a sales tactic. I heard that if they activate out of province numbers, the store gets clawed back by the carrier on the sale.

Update and closure: I was able to activate in Ontario to get a Quebec number and Quebec pricing. No issues at all.

You might have even got better incentives at a Koodo shop in Ontario, especially with the multi-carriers (there's no Wow Mobile or The Mobile Shop in Gatineau, but there is in Ottawa), since the Ottawa locations would have incentives based on Rest of Canada plans and pricing.
