I have a samsumg galaxy sii and just started having problems with it yesterday. It started with my sms backup app stopping, then google apps stopped working so I shut the phone off for 12 hrs, turned it back on this morning and the same thing happened. Is anyone else having these problems

How's your memory situation? When android starts running low on ram, it starts shutting down programs. If any of the programs it's shutting down has an option to put an icon on your notification bar, use it. Doing so will prevent android from closing the app.

If you're using a task killer, try white listing the apps so they won't be closed.

What apps specifically are you using that's closing ?

So that's actually your storage memory, I'm talking about ram.

Look for things in your program settings like "make persistant".

Navigate to settings...apps...running

There is a graph on the bottom that shows how much ram is left, and how much is being used.

I will try that and get back to you if that doesn't work. I deleted a bunch of pics and text messages yesterday. Gotta finish my shopping so I will do it later, thank you for the help and if I have any more questions I will reply.. Merry Christmas

That's good, but it's really about what's running and not what you're storing. Going through the list of what's running and determining if that's an app you actually want to use anymore is more important. And this may not end your issue although it will help your device run a bit faster.
