I canceled my $65/mnth Koodo plan on Dec 19 and my cycle starts on the 1st or 2nd of the month. WIll I be credited the 10 days I didn't use? And should this be reflected in my January bill statement?

Yes, you'll see the prorated amount for the days you didn't use.

So my January statement has a balance of $0, with no credit.

A balance of $0 would mean there had to of been some sort of credit otherwise you would've been charged right?
You can check your pdf ebill to see the full breakdown.
You must have cancelled exactly half way through which means you got charged for half the month and got reimbursed for the other half equaling $0.

I checked the full breakdown in the ebill PDF and there are zero charges (i.e. every line item shows $0.00. And I had paid off my December bill in full and had no other outstanding charges/balances.

I canceled my plan with 10 days left until my next cycle. Is this enough to receive a credit back? I read in the community forum that Koodo does pro-rate bills so I assumed I would be receiving a credit but I didn't get one in my January bill.

If you used more than your pro-rated amount of minutes or data, then you would incur overage.  If this overage amount exceeds your regular monthly bill, then Koodo will charge you until the end of the month since it will save you money.

I just checked and my data usage on my bill says 1,669.227 (MB) and my plan gave me 4 GB of data with unlimited calls & text messages. So it doesn't seem I used more than the pro-rated amount. Or am I wrong?

Can you send a screenshot of what you're seeing on your final bill? Just leave out any personal information.

Could you screenshot the top of page 3, right above the part you showed?
All this is saying is that you werent charged any overages. You want to look at your plan costs which is right above this on your pdf ebill.

It'll look something like this:
Monthly and other charges (Dates)
*Your plan details*
Total monthly and other charges $xx.xx
(Edited)

When you cancelled your account did you request that it be cancelled effective immediately? If not, the default would be to cancel at the end of the current billing cycle.

I did. I received an email from Koodo right away confirming the immediate cancellation.

Yeah the account does get cancelled immediately but for many reason Koodo charges the whole month unless you specifically ask for.

For me, I ported my number 7 days into a billing cycle in December. I got the email the same day that my service as cancelled and my final bill would be January 10th. At the end of December, they took out my month payment for December 10th to January 10th.
However, my final bill, there is no pro-rated credit. It said I owed 0 dollars.
I would have expected a credit of from December 18th to January 10th.

You will need to contact Koodo to let them know you wanted your bill pro-rated and not canceled at the end of the month

Would have thought porting out would have triggered that automatically. Thanks for the suggestion

I thought so too, but apparently it needs to be requested or else it gets canceled at the end of the monthly billing cycle to avoid any surprised overages that certains users might incur

Yes, sr as long as you called in to cancel the system will reprocess your bill and will credit you back the days you did not used the services. as long as you dont have any extra charge.
