How was it wrong?
Is it for plan or minutes?

Julie - yes, it does... if my bill is a credit only... will it be?  (providing I have no other extra charges?)

Mayumi was giving you a different scenario in case it could help you grasp the idea, but we are all saying the same thing :)!

I'm not sure I understand why you would expect to see a $50 credit on your last bill - here's why :
(random example) If you cancel on November 13th (which is the last day of your cycle) your service would have been paid for since your October bill. Because when you get your October bill, you pay for the service from October 14th until November 13th. So when we send you your final bill in November, you will have no charges at all! (unless you have overages or were owing a Tab balance).

Are we on the same page?

Yes... as long as my last month (oct. 14 to nov.13) doesn't end up being charged to me -  of course, extra charges for anything like over data or calls to the US I would have to pay) then I get it!

Paul - Liz O'Neill said: The bill I get at the end of a cycle (so it will get to me AFTER Oct. 13th!) I consider I need to pay... Included in that bill (if it is just a normal bill) is 50$ for the next month in advance!
Sooooo... what I am planning to see on my last bill is a MINUS 50$ somewhere on that bill like I saw a MINUS 21$ when I changed my daugther's plan to a higher one (for which I was charged 50$ - advanced fee  AND 43$ pro-rated for the actual usage for that month).  If that's the case, then I will consider the fee recovered... But if that MINUS 50$ is NOT showing on that last bill, then I'm not OK with it!

Yes, if you chose to pay that bill you received some days after October 13, and had cancelled the service on October 12, you would be in a credit position of $50 on your final bill, and can request Koodo send you a cheque for the $50.

If, on the other hand, having cancelled your service on October 12, and then received a bill some days later for the period October 13 - November 12, you could write "Service cancelled October 12" across the face of the bill and return it to Koodo without payment. In that case, as Mayumi stated, you would not receive the $50 as you had not paid the 'in advance' amount.

Does this clarify things?

If you cancel on the 14th of November, your last monthly payment would be on your October bill!

Page 3 will give a detailed breakdown. Also keep in mind that if say you change your plan halfway through the billing cycle you get half of your talk/data allotment for before and after you changed it.

Bernard corrected a couple of us some days /weeks ago; it is only the minutes portion of a plan that is prorated, the data portion is not, for some reason.

Hey Paul!

Proration can indeed be quite confusing, but rest assured that we are not charging you more than you should be paying for.

The reason why your bill is higher in August is because your plan was changed on the 18th of July. Your billing cycle actually starts on the 14th, so when you received your bill in July, it took in consideration that you would spend your whole month on the $25 plan. The $21.66 portion that you see added on your August bill is the portion that was missing from your July cycle.

So although this amount appears on your August bill, consider it part of your July bill, not August. And then, on your August bill, you have your normal $50 charge for your monthly plan that covers your service until the 13th of September.

I hope this makes sense to you! Let me know if I can answer anymore questions for you.
