If I buy a non-prepaid Koodo phone can I use my prepaid sim card in it?

yep, a prepaid sim will work, they're essentially the same thing just a price difference. But if you're buying a phone outright i think you need to pay the prepaid price for it unless you have a postpaid account. not sure though

Daniel is right.

In some cases the price differences are ridiculous. You might as well sign up for a post paid account then cancel and you will still be ahead

yay and here is an example of the price differences just so you are aware Naomi, a GN2 is 350 outright on postpaid while it is a whopping 500 on prepaid :O not all the price differences are this large but it's something to think about, you might want to do what Dennis suggested depending on the scenario :)

Then is it just prepaid that specifically requires a prepaid sim?

Nope. You can get a prepaid Koodo phone and use it with a Koodo post paid sim

Thanks guys. :)
I know about the price difference. I was looking at the Blackberry Q5 and it is 150 except it is 300 prepaid! Double the price is crazy!!
I will keep considering it..might wait for the price to drop some more..

Just order it online for $150. You don't need to pick a plan there. Once you receive the Q5 just buy a prepaid SIM if that's what you want.
