Prepaid to monthly postpaid

I'm wanting to take advantage of the current offer of saving $10/month on a monthly plan when you migrate over from prepaid. I went into a store yesterday and they sold me a postpaid SIM card and told me to call (which I'm working on). My husband currently has a monthly account under his name. Is it possible to activate this SIM card under his account, port over my pre-paid number, and still take advantage of the credit? It makes more sense for us to have it all under one bill, plus we'd get to take advantage of free family calling. I'm having trouble finding any information about how to follow through with this offer....everything I read says go in to the store, but then the store says to call. Then calling suggests going online.

What you are suggesting regarding porting the number over "after the fact" if best. However, to my limited understanding, you can only activate the SIM card in store or online. Your husband can have the line added to his account. Then since the pre-paid SIM is to your name, under the temporary number in his account's self-serve, you would click to change number, and select option to port a number. You'll have a quick web form to fill out. Put all the relavant info and remarks so that Koodo can replace the temporary number with your pre-paid number. Since the porting is intra-company (Koodo prepaid to postpaid), should all happen within seconds.

Then give it 15 minutes for self-serve to refresh, reboot the phone and you're good to go!

Hope that helps.
