Hi, Im a prepaid subscriber from Hamilton, and will move to Oakville. Should I change my number? or would it still the same rate for me and for my friends that would contact me? My baseplan expires tomorrow, and will move to Oakville next week, If I top-up, what happens to my booster and base plan if I need to change my location and number etc...?? Kindly advice me what I should do... thank you!

Hi Tita,

You can keep your number if you'd like, because prepaid boosters are nation-wide. It would mean that your family and friends in Hamilton will still be able to call you "locally" (for them) and it won't cost you extra.

But if you prefer to change your number to your new town, all you need to do is change it (for free) in self-service :)

Your boosters, base plan, etc will not be affected in the slightest :D You can make the change any date you wish!

A correction from what Sophia has said.. If your friends/family from Hamilton call you, they will be charged long distance. If you call back to Hamilton, it will be long distance. The ONLY local call for you would be if you made a call to a local oakville number while you were in oakville.

Oooh maybe my answer wasn't too clear, Ahmad but it wasn't wrong :)

What I tried to say:
If Tita keeps her Hamilton number, people in Hamilton won't have to pay long distance when they phone her.
If she changes her number to an Oakville one, the people in Oakville can call her locally.

However, whether Tita changes her number or not, it doesn't make any difference to herself. Both incoming and outgoing calls cost her the same to/from Hamilton or to/from Oakville no matter where she is in Canada and no matter what number she decides to have (5 cents per minute on the $25 booster, to be exact)

The only reason for her to change the number should be for other people's convenience, it doesn't make a difference to her.

To complicate things :D this changes if she uses one of the "unlimited local" base plans ($25 and higher) because THOSE calls are indeed local only!

ok, thank you Sophia and Ahmad!!

Yeah, I was thinking that as well, that since I am just using the 15 dollar base plan, it cost me incoming and outgoing calls anyway... And I don't know anyone yet in Oakville, so might as well, just still keep my number for now... thank you so much!
