Hi, I have three questions about prepaid koodo :

1-How many minutes would be deducted if I made a call from the US to canada ?
2-Is it possible to suspend my account for an extended period of time (1 year) and retain my phone number, either with prepaid koodo or regular koodo ? What charge do I have to pay ?
3-If not, is it possible to have a bill printed with my name, phone number and address so that I can transfer my number to another carrier for htat period of time ?

Thank you !

1. You can't. There's no roaming available to prepaid.

2. Yes with postpaid ($15/month). No with prepaid, though auto-topping the $15 base plan amounts to the same thing.

3. You can print out the required information from Self Serve. You can port to a VoIP service like Fongo, which would charge you a porting fee, but would not charge you monthly.

Happy travels!

Hi! Do you think I can switch to the post paid 15$ option online? I can only find the prepaid option! Thank you for your help!

There is no post paid $15 option... unless you are referring to some add-on?

$15 plan is for seasonal hold.
If you go out of country, they can keep your account for $15/mo. You can't use the service.

Depending on the plan you hav it may or may not be left good idea. You have to select whatever will be be market available plans whenever you get back so if your sitting on on good grandfathered plan, then I wouldn't do it.

Also if you want to switch from prepaid to postpaid, they will run a credit check on you.
That's why you can't change it through online.

1. prepaid = no roaming. Won't work.
2 & 3: port your number to VoIP (CallCentric) or an internet phone service (Fongo, etc.) when you are ready to cancel your Koodo. You will retain the number and be able to call forward to anywhere in North America at very cheap rates. Figure about $8-10 per month for full service fowarding, less if you are just parking the number.

Koodo monthly customers can go on seasonal hold for $15 per month, about the same price as a monthyl base plan on prepaid, but that's only supposed to be for 6 months max.

Just to add to all the wonderful replies. I use wifi when in the states and use google hangouts to make a call or message. It's free. Some free voips now have started charging and u still need wifi or data.
