Hello everyone so I’m not a Canadian resident, I come here for school from the USA. Can I get a Koodo prepaid plan? I know contracts require credit checks and I can’t. What about prepaid plans were I bring my phone? Does that require anything?

You only need your name and a Canadian address (temporary) to activate your prepaid Koodo SIM. No need to worry about credit check.

However you will need a way to purchase top up voucher if you do not have a canadian credit card.

You will have to purchase them from these places

And, your phone needs to be unlocked.

Your phone should be GSM unlocked and AT&T or T-Mobile compatible. Verizon and other CDMA gear will not work.
Thanks everyone, it’s a Koodo phone already got it from a friend of mine. So I don’t need to be a resident to get the prepaid line?

No you don't need to be a resident for prepaid. You just need a way to pay as Dennis mentioned.

you can even put : Bob Square-pants as a name when activating your prepaid line online. The only thing that matters is a valid email address for the self-service.
