I have a positive tab balance of $75......you are advertising an Iphone for $125 + $15 monthly tab for 24 months......my plan is currently $60/month (not paying on a phone, thus accumulating the positive balance). If I buy the phone does my positive tab come off the $125, or the first several months of the plan or what? After the positive tab is used, do I still pay the $60 or will my bill go up for same plan?

Hi Brad,

That 75$ positive tab balance will be taken off of the price you pay, so say you are going to put the 360 on the new tab, you will pay only 50$ for the phone. This will also add a 15$ per month fee on top of the plan to pay off the tab, so if you are paying 60$ a month you will now be paying 75$ a month.

If you decide, you want to put 125 towards the phone, just put "pay" 200$, 75$ will be taken off for the positive tab balance, and you will still pay the 125$ for the phone, except this way you will only have 285$ on the tab, lowering the monthly cost of the tab surcharge to 11.40$ per month on top of your plan (71.40$ per month).

The more you pay upfront, the less you will have to pay every month after that to pay off the phone.

Hope this helps!

So won't some of the $60 monthly be used to reduce the tab? Some of it is accumulating as a positive tab now.

Your monthly tab charge (amount placed on tab divided by 24 months) is used to reduce the tab owing.

With the way they have gone, chances are you would have to change your plan to one of the new plans before they'd let you buy a new phone on their current tab system.

Once that has happened than no, they will not cover part of the tab from the plan itself. (unless it's some kind of special like you see on some phones where you get a bonus amount on the tab).

With the new plans you pay for your phone completely, you can either do it up front, or over time but it'll still cost you the same.

You can keep your existing plan if you want as long as you're not going with Tab Plus. With Tab Plus, you'll have to take a Tab Plus plan.
