Porting my number from Public Mobile to Koodo

I switched to Koodo for their $60 for 10gbs promo yesterday and wanted to port my number from Public Mobile to Koodo. My account with PM has been cancelled (I even confirmed with them, that the number has been ported out, and so I have to contact Koodo), but my number has not been ported over. I'm using a temporary number (which only just started working this morning) for now. I even tried using Self Serve to change my number, but it doesn't work (The number entered is not eligible for the following reason: Your request could not be completed. Please try again later.
Please check your number and try again.). That really doesn't tell me anything.

Where is my number now? I have had this number for 10 years and really don't want to lose it.. Please help!

Call Koodo's customer service. Ask what happened to your port request. No $10 charge. They/you probably need to talk to the porting department. Usually, a number port between any of Koodo, TELUS, Public Mobile is completed within seconds.

An alternative to calling is to send them a private message on Facebook - you'd probably avoid a horrendous wait on the phone (but prepare to wait for them to come back to you).
