I’m a current public mobile customer and have recently switched to Koodo, I’m trying to port my number but every time I try to port it, I get a msg saying “failed data format validation” my account number and pin is correct and my number is still active with public mobile, Ive validated my phone serial number and everything is correct? I don’t understand why it won’t port my number?

Not sure what's going on. You may have to port in person if it won't accept it and you're sure that you have all your info correct, including address.

Hi Amanda

I think you only need either your account number or PIN. if you put both in, they might report errors.

I am not sure if the phone serial number had to do with this. But I would double check if everything is correct. You could also visit a Koodo kiosk to ask the agents to do it for
you, if you can.

Enter only the account number.

I tried only entering my account number but it doesn’t seem to work either, same error :(

I think I figured it out! I didn’t enter my serial number for my phone and it took it? Weird. I’m hoping this doesn’t effect anything negatively
