I bought an iphone on large tab last Black Friday. I was given a new phone number. Now I'd like to port my phone number from Fido to Koodo. This operation would close my Fido account as I understand it. I was told by a CSR at Koodo that I should avoid doing number porting in the first month, or I could face surprise charges or issues.

When you cancel mid plan everything is prorated. Say you are half way through your 500min plan with Fido and have used 400min so far. If you were to cancel, half way through it gets prorated to 250min so you'd actually be 150min over and be charged pay per use rates for what you're over by.

It should have no impact on your koodo bill

Ok thanks guys. i was worrying more about the Koodo bill than Fido. I heard there's small risk that the billing system would charge double tab amount (2 x21), but I'm fine with that, it should lower further my tab.

And if it does you can always contact Koodo to have it reversed.
