Port Koodo Number, then Port Number In

I want to transfer my current Koodo number out, but I do not want to cancel the account. After the number has been ported out, I'd like to port a different number in from WIND, without closing the entire WIND account.

Is this possible to do?

Transferring a number out causes the line to be cancelled on any provider. There's no real easy way to do this.

The only thing I can suggest is this convoluted method: add a random, throwaway line/phone number onto both the Koodo and Wind accounts. Then, transfer the number out from Koodo you require (leaving the throwaway number) and then port in the necessary Wind # in from the other account, leaving the other stray phone number hanging out on Wind.

It is a good idea. But if you have a grandfather plan on either Koodo or WIND, you still won't be able to keep it, Right?
