Please have an "effective date" option on address change form.

In Self Serve, one can change the billing address. It would be great if that could be changed for a later date (like a postdated cheque, if you like). An "effective by" field would be very welcome.

This way, the customer could file the address change in advance of the actual moving date. Around the actual moving date, people are usually very very busy, and then they might forget about the address change, which could result in various problems.

The CRA, provincial governments and some banks have that "effective by" option implemented.

Hey Daniel,

Koodo does offer this already actually and has for the longest time. I think since launch lol. Once you enter the new address, hit submit and the next page will ask you when you want it to be effective. Cheers :)

They really need to update the emulators at work for Self Serve hahaha

I haven't seen anything like that. Thanks for posting the pic. I can use that for future calls :)

That's why I never use the emulators to guide customers but just load up my own Self Serve account.

@Tyler: There's a lot of things that the emulators need updating with :P.

Hi Ahmad, thank you for pointing that out! I had no idea! I never hit submit because my moving date hasn't come yet. This "effective starting" needs to be placed BEFORE one clicks the submit button. :-)

I would like to update my idea:

The "effective date" option for an address change should be visible on the same page where the customer enters their new address. If it is only shown once the customer hits the submit button it is of much less help. How would a customer who is moving for the first time know that this option is coming up?

I agree this would help out with the misunderstandings. Not too sure why it is placed after the submit button! :)

Hey Daniel, thanks for the follow up suggestion.

As I'm reading the thread, there are two main feedback that I've uncovered:

1) Although we do have the effective date option, we should reconsider its placement
2) Reworking the emulator as suggested by Tyler and Myke

All valid points, thanks guys.

Sumaya
