My wife ported to Koodo on October 18, bought a google nexus 5 with tab medium. Today she dropped the phone accidentally, and the screen was cracked even though it fell from only a foot high place. We went to a Koodo booth, they said this damage is not covered by the warranty. If we agree they can send the phone to Koodo's repair centre, and the repairing usually costs $250-$400. The quality of this phone is so bad and the repairing is too expensive. We really don't know what we can do now. Please give us some suggestions or recommendations to recover the damage. Thanks!

Hey Justinian, sorry that happened to your wife but there really is nothing that can be done to help fix this (for free). You can try a small cell phone repair shop that may charge less or just buy a new phone. It's not something you want to hear but that's what happens in these situations.

Do I have to replace the LCD? The touch screen still fully functions, but someone said the glass and LCD are integrated. Can anyone recommend any places where I can get the phone repaired? Thanks!

Now I have fully understood how the repairing works. I have no more questions and the problem was solved.

Did you find a local repair shop or are you going to use Koodo's repair centre?

Yes, we found a local repair shop charged $130, but actually LG is also an option if anyone ran into my case. They charge $150+tax, but at least you know they will replace your screen ( glass+LCD ) with an original manufactured component ( they're not giving you a refurbished phone ), but the other repair shops... I'm pretty sure its quality is not as good as the original one.
