plan without sim

I am not sure why Kodoo forces us to buy sim card when we order a plan online. I already bought a sim card from a local Kodoo store.

Is it possible to just order a plan without sim card online? Or can I refund the sim card ordered online after I receive it?

Thanks,

No you'll need to call or visit the kiosk to activate, I'm in the same boat and it's kind of frustrating.

Most people who buy a SIM in stores activate right there. Was there a reason why you didn't want activate in store?

HI Bernard,

Because my friend referred me to Koodo and in the referral email, it said "Activate an account with Koodo online, at a Koodo Shop or Retail partner. Remember, if you activate online you’ll get $100 in bill credits for a limited time!".

I heard people said they activated it in store, and they still got the $100 credit, can you please confirm? If that is the case, I can send email request to cancel my online order, then go back to the store and activate there. If that's not the case, I am not sure what to do with the sim card I bought at the store (I already took the sim card portion out from the card).

Thank you.

The $100 is for online only. Store activations won't get the credit. Online activation of monthly (postpaid) lines happens when you buy the SIM online. Surprised to hear that the store let you buy a monthly plan SIM without activating as they don't get the commission that way.

I've been to many Koodo stores to buy a postpaid SIM due to damaged SIM,  upgraded my phone from someone/somewhere else  or buying it for my family member.
Store reps always asked me if I want to activate it. But I always said "no thank you", then they just leave it.

Well, this was just my case.  But, my point is that if customer say NO for activate SIM  at a store, they don't ask you why (detailed question).

Yes, in that scenario that makes sense.
