I would be so interested if Koodo offered a plan more suitable for my lifestyle. It would be nice if Koodo offered a $45 plan with unlimited talk and text and a 1G offering. it iIt is very frustrating to look at other carriers and see plans much ore suture to my lifestyle needs. Is there any thought to upcoming promotions or changes in the future?

I could agree to say it can be frustrating when things arent exactly the way we want them to be. When i signed up, there was a 55$ plan for unlimited minutes and text and 1gb of data. I would have loved it to be 45$ but sometimes things dont work that way. If i was you, i would grab the 45$ plan at 1gb and 500 minutes for now, and see what comes up down the road.

Sad to say that is not enough minutes for my use.  I will have to wait and hope that a better plan comes along at some point.

I can understand that. I just upped to the 60$ plan. Best of luck and hope you find the plan your looking for. You can also visit the Koodo booths and see if theres a plan they can get you on. Its a bit unorthadox, but ive had a few friends who managed to switch to the new customer plans through the booths. Theyre may be something better they can offer.

Thanks Chadwick, will do.  I will also be on the lookout for a plan that maybe better suited.  I just hope it doesn't mean changing carriers.

Gina, what province are you in?  Ontario?  For $50/month, Public Mobile (like Koodo, owned by Telus) will get you want you want, but you must own your phone outright.  You will get $2/month off if you sign up for preauthorized credit card payment.  Chatr (owned by Rogers) will cost you $50 (again, must own your phone outright).

Just curious -- what carriers/plans you are currently considering?

I am in Ontario Jeremy.  i have not decided on another  carrier yet  We have been with Koodo since 2008 and would hope that they will come out with a plan more suitable.  My last package was not particuliarly good either and i was able to switch today to the $35 plan and save $20 however I would finally break into the world of data but am not willing to go over that $45 mark, since i have been paying $55 per month since 2008.  However it maybe well worth my while looking into Public or another carrier to find what I am looking for.  I will get back to you once i have researched a little more.
Thanks,

Hi Gina,

Do you normally do incoming/outgoing calls before 5PM? Have you looked at you statement and see how much minutes you use?

I do, I average about 1100 minutes a month so 500 minutes will not do and most of my calls are during the day.

Hi again Gina, do you use your cell phone to make local calls or long distance calls (within Canada) as well?  If you stay within Ontario, we have a winner!  The $50 I quoted earlier was Canada-wide.

More good news -- if you switch to Public Mobile, I can tell you from experience that your phone will work with their SIM without the need to unlock.

Sadly that is not a thing anymore. You can use a VoIP Program to supplement your minutes as well. It's usually not too hard on data, but if you're trying to conserve your 1gb as much as possible, then if calls can be made while on wi-fi then you're golden. That is, if you want to remain with Koodo. If you do PM, you'll still be on the same network and company overall, so there's that.
