Phones didn't work in Mayan Riviera

Before travelling to Mexico, I purchased the $40.00 Mexico/Caribbean plan for both my husband's and my phones (for a total of $80.00) hoping to use our phones to communicate with each other at the resort near Playa del Carmen. No such luck. Neither of our phones would work - at all. When we tried to phone each other, the result would be "not available." So we spent the whole vacation without using our phones once (which wasn't really a problem!)


Will I be charged $80 for absolutely no service????

Most likely yes unless you call Koodo and argue with them that it didn't work!

Keeping in mind that Koodo doesn't guarantee service while Roaming. Many factors could play into why your devices didn't work. Incompatible with local services, local service not available, Chupacabra attacks. The 40$ Roaming package doesn't actually change anything about your device, it just appplies discounts to your use while Roaming.
