Phone for across the pond!

So I've just finished paying off the tab for my iPhone 4, and am hoping to upgrade to an iPhone 5s. However, in a couple months I will be moving to Europe for a minimum of 4 months. Not sure what my options are on this end, or if I'd be better off cancelling my plan and buying a European phone over there.

Help?

If you buy a European iPhone 5S, you won't get LTE data speeds here when you come back to Canada.

If you want an iPhone 5S to use on a European network, I recommend buying it straight from Apple, as it is unlocked. You can then either cancel your Koodo plan if you so choose. Keep in mind that when you do come back, you will have to pick from whatever plans are available at that time. The only way to keep a promotional plan is to not cancel and just keep paying it while you're away.
