Is the Galaxy SII X at koodo the same as a galaxy SII Skyrocket ? I'm looking to get an otterbox and bought a SII X with koodo, and was wondering if the skyrocket case will fit.

No, not quite.

Cases for the T-Mobile Hercules will fit, it's the identical phone.
That being said, I found actual SII X branded cases and screen protectors at future shop.

The otter box cases are great but quite expensive. If you can't get one of those then just make sure you find a case that wraps around the edges of the glass on the front because really that is the only real point of weakness on Samsung phones when dropped. As long as it protects those edges your good. A Zagg brand screen protector is also a great idea and prevents the screen from getting scratched and actually strengthens the glass to help prevent cracking when dropped. - KID ANDROID, ( Team.Android.Canada)

The camera on the skyrocket isnt in the same position. You need the tmobile version of the case.

That's the exact setup I have. Zagg screen protector and a black rubberized case that covers the edges.... and I've dropped it on a cement floor a few times, because I have a subconscious need to destroy electronics

Ya you have those two things on your Samsung then you have a virtually indestructible device. (yes to a point, don't throw it against the wall lol)
