Phone stolen - now what?

Phone stolen - now what? My iphone was stolen yesterday and I was on the very original tab plan (paid off) and Canada Wide 30 plan. I want a new iphone but I'm totally confused by the new offerings. Do I have to use Tab Plus for iphone? Is that the only tab option for iphones? If I have to use Tab Plus does this mean I have to change plans too? I like my current plan and don't want to upgrade just because someone stole my phone.

You don't have to use tab plus.
on a regular tab the 5S is $244 and $15 a month.
iphone 6 16gb is $414 and $15 a month
iphone 6s 16gb is $555 and $15 a month.

if you use this regular tab pricing you do not have to change your plan.

Won't she need to change it since she's on the old tab system with the 10%

Hello Heather

First of all, very sorry for the loss of your phone.
Second, here's the answer to your questions

Do I have to use Tab Plus for iphone? No, you can use wtv tab you want
Is that the only tab option for iphones? No, you can take wtv tab you want. But if you take a new tab it means you need a new plan
If I have to use Tab Plus does this mean I have to change plans too? Tab plus or Tab M or S will require you to change your plan since you're on the old tab system
I like my current plan and don't want to upgrade just because someone stole my phone. In order for that to work, you would need to pay the phone full price! Which is the same as if you were taking a tab, but you're paying it in full right away instead of paying it in 2 years.

Here's how the new tab : http://help.koodomobile.com/getting-started-with-koodo/the-tab-what-it-is-and-how-it-works

She can keep the plan she just won't be collecting 10% once it's paid off.

Thanks for the responses. I did read the site and still found it confusing and unclear. If I understand today's responses correctly, I can:

1) Purchase a new iPhone with Tab (not Tab Plus), meaning I will put $100 down and pay the balance off through 24 months of monthly payments. (Before, I didn't have to do that - a portion of my monthly payments were credited to my phone balance.)

2) Maintain my current plan (not a Tab Plus plan) even though I've read elsewhere that if I get a new iPhone I have to use a Tab Plus plan.

I hope I have this right. If not, then I would be force to increase my monthly plan costs by $20 and, quite frankly, I will switch services, if that's the case. Thanks for your help.

Not exactly,

To keep your same plan on regular Tab would be;
as Mitchell stated;
on a regular tab the 5S is $244 down and $15 a month for 24 months.
(thats $360 on TAB that you are paying off Interest free)

So,whatever your plan is plus $15 for 24 months

Its not shown on Koodo Phone page but they can do that at a Koodo Kiosk

Also if you haven't done so yet hurry and log into your self serve account and suspend the stolen phone because chances are they're running up your bill sky high until you do.

Thanks everyone - v helpful. Suspending the phone is the v first thing I did. Curious ... does this mean they now can't access the info in my Contacts?

One more question - I logged into self-serve to check my usage to see whether my bill was racked up before I had an opportunity to suspend the phone. I can't get any info. Site won't give me the info - how do I know whether I'm ok?

There should be a way of remotely locking your phone over the internet too, you use android device manager for android but I'm not sure what the iphone equivilent is.

iPhone equivalent is : https://www.icloud.com
But if it's not connected to the internet then it's useless
