Phone saying "This phone is not activated on the network" when I try to make a call, cellular data has also stopped working. What's wrong?

For background: a few days ago it said 'emergency calls only', but restarting the phone helped. At some point in the last hour and a half or so the data stopped working, then when I got home I tried to make a call and I got the recording about not being connected to the network. I've tried restarting, checked the connection settings, nothing is helping. My phone doesn't allow access to the battery to remove it, so unfortunately that's not an option.

Any ideas? Help is appreciated :)

Hi Devena,

Turn off the phone, take out the SIM card and let it sit for a few minutes. Then put the SIM card back in and try again.

It is also possible you have a bad SIM card, and it needs to be replaced. If Mathieu's suggestion does not work, the folks at a Koodo booth can help you out with the changeover to a new SIM.

They will be able to identify any problems with your handset or SIM.
