First, you choose a base plan. You must choose a base plan that you renew every month.

Then, you can add data or minute 'boosters' which is a certain allotment of data or minutes.

Every 30 days, you renew your base plan by topping up your account. With boosters, AS LONG AS YOU RENEW YOUR BASE PLAN ON-TIME, they will rollover and you can continue to use them. You don't need to renew these along with your base plan. Once your booster is all used up, you can add another one by toping up the required amount.

You need to buy a prepaid sim card for $20 at a Koodo store/retail partner. When you activate it though (which you do here:, you get a $20 activation credit.
