I am on holidays in europe and my phone got wet and doesn't work anymore. Can I buy a new one here and use my sim card from my old phone? I have a long flight back and having my phone would be great. My phone is broke definitely. I am staying with someone and had my phone on flight mode.

You will want to ensure the phone is unlocked when you purchase it, else you may be bringing an expensive brick back to Canada.

Unlocked is likely not a problem in Europe (but check to make sure). Make sure the phone supports 3G frequencies 850/1900 if you wish to use it once you get back to Canada though.
