I have lost my cell phone over in Europe. While it does not work in Europe, so it is unlikely that it will be found and used, what is the procedure for suspending a phone number? And what costs are involved (if any)? Also what is the procedure for re-opening the number once I either find the old one or come back to Canada and get a new one?

Very sorry to hear your lost your phone, Peter :( It is free to suspend your number, I believe you can do so in self service or otherwise you can call Koodo, the number is +1 647-788-4337 from abroad.

You won't lose anything, your number and account is still yours and can just be reactivated again on a new SIM / phone when you come back. No worries :)
