As long as you don't cancel your PC service before you activate your Koodo service, you should be able to.

Yes. Just make sure you get your account #. I'm assuming this is prepaid? You wouldn't have to worry about cancelling in this case but just make sure the phone # is active so you can port it over.

Just curious Chris, what don't you like about PC? Are you on their monthly plans or a prepaid phone?

If it's prepaid, it might be the lack of a good/affordable Canadian LD option, data rates, or phone selection.

If it's postpaid, Koodo's overall cheaper and has more variety, but PC postpaid does have some tricks up its sleeve... overages on daytime minutes or data can be disabled (very cool, kind of like a postpaid/prepaid hybrid system), auto-suspension of services after $250 for any usage regardless of credit rating to prevent bill shock in the case of accidental roaming, double PC points if you setup pre authorized payments with your PC Mastercard.

Yes it is a prepaid (i have never liked there fine print on the contracts), i have been with PC for 3 years now and im looking at a new blackberry 9800 my friend has.
I asked PC if they can hook it up and without even checking they said No. then the person was ignorent about them only doing PC phones and nothing else, Apparently 3 years of service with them didnt add up to much, so time for a change

You will have to unlock your 9800 to work it on koodo, but since your are bringing your own phone to them they will give you 10% off every month on the plan of your choice. Or you could collect "tab" for a future phone from them.

The 9800 was a decent phone but it's getting pretty outdated at this point. You might want to consider getting the Q5 from Koodo instead? It's a bit faster, has newer software, LTE support (if you choose data), and a great keyboard. You won't have to worry about fine print or sneaky fees or any of that stuff, either.
