Given that Telus Phones are fully compatible with a Koodo sim (and vice-versa) does this mean the same for PC Mobile?

I don't beleive all telus phones are fully compatable. Some are but most would have to be unlocked as far as I know.

Really? I have moved LG P970, Motorolo Milestone, and Samsung Galaxy back and forth just by swapping the sim card.

(well had to change the data settings to koodo or telus)

I don't know which ones are and which ones aren't but i'm sure it's not all. I had friends with telus phones that needed to be unlocked.

Hey Geoff, when using any non-Koodo phone, it's best to have it network unlocked so there isn't that additional barrier for use. That being said, there is also a chance that non-Koodo phones may not be accepted by the system. As it stands right now, the only phones that can be used from Telus without being network unlocked would be Iphone 4/4S/5.

Personally speaking, I wouldn't expect any phone that isn't network unlocked to work on Koodo's network, even if it came from Telus.

Thanks MykeC, however I missed the Lumia 610 which is still a presale but Koodo has it cheaper

Geoff, I've had that phone and it's shiny and happy on the surface but the memory is terribly lacking to the point where you can't even download some apps. No micro SD slot either. No usb mass storage (on ver 7.5), no bt file transfer (hope you like zune), the APN MMS settings aren't configurable without software from Nokia. Go with the 520 if a Windows Phone is calling you. You won't have to pay to unlock it and Imo You may be happier in the long term.
