The tab should be set up in such a way that it must be paid off in say 2 or three years like Windmobile has.

Wind Mobile also gives you back 10% of your monthly rate to pay back your plan.

If you were to get a Samsung Galaxy S4 with Wind:
$399 Up front, 300$ on WINDtab: on $40 plan= 4$/month, 75 months to clear
$499 Up front, 200$ on WINDtab: on $30 plan= 3$/month, 67 months to clear
$599 Up front, 100$ on WINDtab: on $20 plan= 2$/month, 50 months to clear

If you were to get a Samsung Galaxy S4 with KOODO:
$475 Up front, 150$ on the KOODOTab: on $40 plan= 4$/month, 37.5 months to clear
$475 Up front, 150$ on the KOODOTab: on $35 plan= 3.5$/month, 42 months to clear
$475 Up front, 150$ on the KOODOTab: on $25 plan= 2.5$/month, 60 months to clear

In the end, it comes up to the same thing, although with WIND you can subsidize more, but it also takes more time before you can clear the balance.

Wind is on the verge of bankruptcy (that's why they are looking foe a buyer) and as you said they will clear the tab in 3 years. Which is not as good as what you will have starting December because of the new code of conduct the CRTC just introduced. All carriers will clear everything you have left to owe after 2 years.

And coverage with with wind is extremely spotty especially outside of toronto.
