Paying off tab - monthly customer

I want to pay for my tab, but not apply it to my bill.  I am a monthly customer and have a credit card associated with my account.  I have found on the koodo website that I can pay off my tab, but the only option presented is to pay it with the credit card associated with the account, which I do not want to do.  How do I go about paying it off using a different payment method?  I tried going to a koodo store and, while I find it hard to believe, they told me I couldn't pay off the tab in person - only online.

I don't believe there is any other way of doing it. May I ask why you don't want it charged to your bill?

I have a Visa gift card that I wish to use for this purpose.  My preauthorized payments are associated with my regular credit card.

Hi there!

If you do a TAB PAY off, the TAB amount will appear on your next bill + tax, now, if your account is on pre-authorized payment, the system will take the full amount.

What you can do is, calculate your TAB + TAX and make a payment to your account with your preferred method of payment, this payment will offset the TAB amount on your bill and the only amount left on your bill will be your monthly services.

Good point... Account cant be overpaid using a credit card... Payment will have to be made using other method of payment.

Sure don't make it easy, do they?  So I can overpay from a bank account, wait a day or two for the money to make it Koodo, then pay the tab then?

You could cancel the pre-authorized payments, pay with the prepaid visa and then re-register for them if that doesn't work.

As soon as you receive your bill with the TAB pay off included, overpay account, sure, it will take a few days before it gets to Koodo, but it will be before system takes money using pre-authorized payment...

But as Allan said, you can remove pre-authorized payment until you do all this if you want to play safe!

Thank you everyone.  I should have gone further in the process before turning here for help.

For others that may be in the same boat and are confused.

I do not have pre-authorized payments set up.  I get a bill and then I pay it.

When you go through the process of paying off your tab in one go, the wording of the text makes it look like they will bill a credit card (I've been a customer for so long, that I thought they might have had a credit card on file).

You will repeatedly be asked if you want to pay it off.  Once you agree, then it says the tab will appear as a line item in the next bill.

According to the website, my current tab balance is $0 and my next bill will be the usual fee plus whatever the tab was.

From that point I can use gift cards, cash or whatever to pay it off.
