I have been paying $3 per month towards my tab on my Samsung Galaxy phone.  I want to pay off the balance of $47.16. To do that, I was asked to agree to this one-time charge, which I did. But then I got a message saying that I will billed for the remaining balance next month. Is there any reason why I can't just go ahead and pay it now along with my current regular bill?  And whenever I do pay it, I should expect to see a $3 reduction on my future bills, right?  I read on this forum that someone was still being charged the same amount even after their tab balance was paid off.

You will either see a reduction or you will start accumulating a positive tab balance.
However I recommend you switch to one of the newer plans that have the discount built in.
Your tab balance just gets paid out on your next monthly bill.

Hi Marc,

What is written next to that 3$ per month towards your tab? Is it something like "Koodo Contribution"?
As for when the tab gets paid off, it is always the next bill. They can't add another charge to a bill that they already sent you, so it makes sense to add it on the next bill!

It's all quite confusing, Mathieu.  Yesterday the total amount of my regular monthly bill that I received was $46.33, including $3 towards my tab.  My 'tab balance' was shown as $47.16, which I understand to mean $47.16 still owing on the phone itself.  I haven't actually paid anything yet, but today when I went to Self Serve, it says that my monthly bill is now $43.33 (not $46.33) and that my tab balance is zero. Any further help is appreciated.

Please tell me where you get that 3$ towards your tab, what is written next to it?

Hey Marc! When you choose to pay off your full tab in the middle of your cycle, your monthly tab charge for that month is credited to the current bill. In your case, since you were paying $3 a month for your Tab, when you charged the whole amount to your next bill we applied a credit for that $3 to your current bill due, thus bringing it down to $43.33. Hope this clarifies!

I think I get it now, thanks Anna.  I will go ahead and pay the $43.33.  I assume the remaining tab balance will be charged on my next bill, even though right now it says "zero."

You can do it online by seleceting the view tab balance, then pay my tab. It will go onto your next bill in which you pay it off then.
Next time you can just create a new thread instead of "changing the subject".
