Paying more for same plan?

Right now I'm on the $40 300 min/data plan and I just looked on the site and the same plan is being advertised for $33. Am I missing something or just paying more for the same plan?

The plans and tab system had a dramatic change on April 19th.

If you'd like the newer less expensive plan you'll need to call in, pay off any tab balance you have, and then customer service will switch you to the new system.

I am sure I am not the only one who has not received a notification of these changes, and have been paying more for the exact same service. It would have clearly been more forthright to simply grandfather in all of the plans to their new prices.

When you grandfather in your allowing people to retain services no longer offered instead of telling them they must change.

Koodo is only required to notify you of changes to your current service. None of the changes have such an impact and while you want to be in with the new plans automatically, I do not. Loosing my 3gb unlimited talk plan doesn't interest me so I won't be upgrading. And because I'm with koodo, I don't have too.

I am not saying it applies to all plans. I am saying for multiple plans, they are now charging an amount that is lower for the exact same service, and its client base was not notified that they were now overpaying.

To each their own.

Anyways, now you know you should always be checking the website to see if there are better and/or cheaper plans/deals. I've been doing this for yours.

Add a phone to that equation and you're no longer paying less per month. Koodo tabs now offer a "LOAN" of up to 360$ which you must pay back over the next 24 months. That 15$ a month. In other words switching to that new plan and getting a new phone would actually cost you 48$ per month. The old tab system at least contributed towards a new device. The new plans include a BYOD discount supposedly so thats why they seem to be a bit lower.

Bottom line, Koodo wasn't required to notify existing customers because they didn't change the terms of your existing service.
