Hey Robert,

Are you using a non-Koodo phone by any chance? It might be the unlock code your phone is requesting. Did you previously unlock your phone? If not, it might be locked to the original carrier (if any).

Keep us posted!

Generally speaking telus phones don;t need to be unlocked to work with Koodo but that's not a guarantee. Can you quote exactly what the screen is saying and does it only happen with a non Telus SIM? If so, go with what rikkster recommends.

You're only allowed a set number of unlock code attempts before the phone hard locks or freezes. Two codes are needed. A 'defreeze' code and an unlock code. A hardware factory reset may restore the phone, no guarantees though.

Some older Telus phones do need unlocking.
