Paid off tab balance but I still have a negative balance?

Hi! This is going to get very descriptive but here we go. So I decided to pay off my tab balance mid August and at the time my balance was around -$60, roughly around there. After clicking the "Pay your tab" button, I received a message saying it would go towards my September bill, which I was fine with and was like alright. Now that I've received my September bill I do see that my bill has gotten more expensive than August's but I knew that it was because I paid my tab. Now I went to go check my tab balance and it was still negative?

here's a bit of information of my bills: 

August 01, 2015
Your Koodo Tab Opening Tab Balance -56.43
Koodo Contribution 5.37
Your Contribution (Tab Charge) 5.00
Closing Tab Balance -46.06 

as you can see this was before I decided to pay off my tab balance so I only contributed 5.00 of course. Now coming September bill I get: 

September 01, 2015
Your Koodo Tab Opening Tab Balance -46.06
Koodo Contribution 5.32
Your Contribution (Tab Charge) 5.00
Closing Tab Balance -35.74
BUT with another line saying:
Monthly and other charges (Sep 02 to Oct 01) 
Tab Payoff $46.06

So pretty much I was charged with the tab payoff in which I knew, however why is it that I still owe closing tab balances of $35.74?

Ugh billing is confusing Koodo!

Log into your self serve account. Check your tab balance and it should be Zero. That's the most up to the date info.

It's possible your bill cycle for August had already closed out when you paid off your tab. That's my guess.

Argh just checked my self serve account, balance is still showing as -35.74, pretty sure I should call customer service just in case I guess.
