Not sure if this exact question has been answered already. I have a Koodo phone with a Montreal number -- no problem. What I want is to get another sim card (I have another phone from Koodo that I'm no longer using) and have an Ontario number. Can this be set up in Montreal?

If I'm getting this right what you mean is you want to port in an ontario number on a second line with koodo to use in montreal?
If thats right then yes you can do it no problem with the canada wide plans you never have to worry about Long distance charges or roaming.
You would just first want to check that you dont have a credit limit on your account and you are eligible for more then one line on your account.
Hope this helps

Vanessa, I don't know how you're reading it but I don't get where you would get the idea that she wants to port in a number. She clearly wants to activate a new line with an Ontario number. If you are unsure, please don't reply and let someone else. I was unsure and decided not to reply. Seems like this was just an attempt to get a post. This is not welcome and your risking your points being reversed by doing so. Didn't think that was possible? Now you do.

She said she HAS an ontario number therefore i assumed she wants to port in. And as being a koodo employee I dont get any perks or rewards for being on here so no it was not just an attempt to get a post. I just like my job and the koodo brand. So I like to comment every now and then in my spare time. Sorry if I misread the question.

Oh dear. Although Ahmad got what I was probably not explaining very well, I appreciate your advice, Vanessa. I hadn't realized it was possible to have 2 lines on one cell.

Sooo.... is it possible to go to Koodo in Montreal and get a Toronto number? (That is probably what I should have said in the first place!)

Thank you!

Its not possible to have 2 lines on one cell (unless you pay for 2 plans and swap sim cards) but yes you could set up a second line in montreal with a new torotno number as well if you wish once again just make sure you dont have a credit limit on your account preventing you from having the second line.

Np Sorry about the misunderstanding and the very unnecessary remarks. I hope it makes more sense now.

I think you need to read her post again just ONE more time.

She said and I quote "What I want is to get another sim card (I have another phone from Koodo that I'm no longer using) and have an Ontario number."

Now you may have got confused but if you take out the brackets, this is what it says:

"What I want is to get another sim card and have an Ontario number."

That means, she wants to activate a new phone with an Ontario number. Because she lines in QC, she doesn't know if it's possible. Furthermore, she said nothing about transferring or porting.

Yes you have been a big help to people on here but that does not mean that you need to be so arrogant.

Thank you for making this clear, Ahmad! I have often been accused of using too many parenthetical remarks, which just confuse people. Though obviously not you. :)

Thank you, Ahmad. Perhaps you would have been less eager to get my back if you had known that I am not one of the lovely young ladies in the pic (they happen to be my daughters)! lol

I can barely see the picture, but I've been here for well over a year now and I'm happy when customers are happy and that's what I try and do for Koodo:)

Well after all that... it appears as though you never received an answer. Yes Isolde you can visit a kiosk and have it set up.

So you're positive she can get an out-of-province (Ontario) number at a kiosk in Quebec?

Yes she can I give out quebec numbers all the time in ontario. It can also be set up online or over the phone($35 activation fee) if you already have the sim card. Which is why I anwsered the question I just didnt specify where to set it up. Sorry but yes the best option is at a koodo kiosk.

If you call over the phone, say online activations are down and that you had to call in to activate and they will waive the $35 "activation fee"

Thats also true most of the time, koodos customer service is pretty good like that.

Thank you! That's what I shall do. :)

But thanks to everyone else for their input!! And apologies to Vanessa and Ahmad for any confusion I inadvertently caused. :(
